Climate change has been reffered to as the significant changes in global temparature leading to global warming and according to the United Nations the world is warming faster than at any point recorded in history and this has affected our country at large.

The climate of Kenya is influenced by factors that  include the following; Latitudes,ocean currents, aspect,altitudes, distance from the sea, configuration of the coastline, wind and ITCZ. Kenya is more vulnerable to this pandemic of climate change and global warming  since reflecting on our economy(agriculture,livestock,tourism,forestry) all of them are climate sensitive.

Climate change in the country has led to more droughts that have caused wild animals wonder for search of water and pasture and food and this situation becomes worse in situations we have seen death of these animals as a result of drought

 According to Kenya Red Cross last year 12 counties are affected by drought as a result of climate change with the number being about 2.1 million people. Tukrana, Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Isiolo, Laikipia, Lamu, Tanariver, Kilifi, Samburu and Baringo are all counties affected the situation gets worse with Tukrana in particular.

Turkana recieves about 200mm of rain annually which is less that the average experienced in the country at large.

Mombasa being close to the equator the altitude is low hence maximum heating and that makes the reason for the increased temparatures in the coastal region

According to the UNHCR climate change has vigorous effects that include; Increased hotter temparatures, more severe storms, increased drought, A warming rising ocean, loss of species, decline in food production, continued health risks and displacement of people and continued poverty.

The United Nations however has provided measures that could help deal with this situation and if people implemented these then perhaps the situation could change. The following are measures to control the continued climate change;

1. Save energy at your residences

2. Use public transport or walk or cycle.

3. Eat more vegetables

4. Throwing away less food.

5. Reducing air travels.

6. Use of recycling and reusing items.

7. Change of source of energy to solar panels.

8. Adapting to electric vehicles that have been on the rise

It only through these measures that we can make the world and our country in particular a safer place to live in regarding to the continued climate change.
